Snow, Sunsets, and Friends

Yesterday it snowed! The air was refreshingly crisp and cold and the atmosphere was so enchanting! So of course, it being saturday I wasn't going to sit inside all day, so I went out to play. I had a snowball fight with a couple of freinds and then watched an amazing sunset with one of those who I had the snowball fight! The sunset was gorgeous. The snow that blanketed the mountians, the trees, streets, cars, homes, you name it, was such a beautiful contrast with the pink sunset over the mountains. It was.... actually breath taking. Everything was white except for that soft pink sky. It was one of those sunsets in which you could sit there with your special someone and just hold each other, holding hands while watching this perfect moment in time. I wish i could have taken a picture.. but it wouldn't have done it justice. It was probably one of the most beautiful sights I have ever seen.

Flowers!

Today, I bought myself a bouquet of Stargazer Lilies. I love them! They are such pretty, fragrant flowers, there is no reason why they shouldn't be sitting on my kitchen table lighting up my little apartment. It is rather unfortunate they will die here in the next week or so.. but I bought the bouquet that hadn't bloomed completely so Im excited for the rest of the buds to bloom.

Graditude

I find it a bit cliche to write exactly what I am thankful for on thanksgiving, but this time around I really can't help myself. I have been given so many oppurtunities in life, I have been blessed to say the least. I want to thank God, above all things and people, he has been the greatest thing in my life. I am so happy he exists and the things he has given me. I am thankful for the people that exist in my life as of right now, i don't know where I would be without them. They have been wonderful and kind. Life has been pretty tough and really, I dont know where I'd be without them. And as many doors that have closed, there have been some interesting windows open. So say the least this last year has been not at all boring.
I have had a lot of bad things happen this year and I realize all the good things in my life that are and have taken place are more clarified and exist. Maybe, a few of the bad things could be blessings in disguise.
I really enjoy just thinking about what I have. Most people are so caught up on what they don't have, or what they could have but what about what they do have? I don't believe that people actually realize everything they have is something that could easily be taken away just as easy as they forget to appreciate it. Life is tough, you don't just need a helmet, sometimes you need a freind. Don't take for granted what you have, I am begining to learn exactly what that means.

A tribute

You are probably thinking, why Lilo. Lilo isn't even real, she is this small disney cartoon in which kids enjoy watching. She even has a sidekick, Stitch, who, by the way, is the ugliest thing anyone has ever created. Anyhow, this tribute is to the senior boys in which I went to high school with. As a freshman in high school they deemed me the Lilo look-alike. Okay, so I was short, small, brown, and slightly hawaiian looking.... and I knew that when Disney came out with Lilo & Stitch I was doomed! Yeah, those boys thought they were pretty clever, let me tell ya. Anyhow, the nickname has stuck, even to this day, four and half, five years later those same boys still call me Lilo, as well as the rest of their class.
